Christmas

Christmas time in UK is traditionally celebrated on December 25. Most people take time of work to celebrate and spend time with their loved ones.
The build up to Christmas is always hectic time especially in the home as we all decorate our houses with lights and Xmas tree.
Children especially get excited in the build up to Christmas , taking part in the school play or singing Christmas carols before the schools shut down for the holidays normally 2 weeks.

Its about this time that mums and dads are still trying to get the last of the christmas presents bought.

Christmas Presents

Christmas presents
Most families celebrate on Christmas morning by exchanging gifts usually first thing in the morning but some like to exchange their gifts on Christmas Eve at midnight. Children are usually the first to wake the household up to see if Santa Clause has been and rush to see what he has left them. Its always a great time when you see the pleasure they have in getting their wished for gift.
Not just the kid’s get presents at Christmas mums, dad, brothers, sisters, grannies and granddads everyone has lots of fun sharing gifts with each other. They are wrapped in traditional Christmas paper have the fun is tearing of the wrappings to see what gift has been given.
Christmas presents can be anything that the person may want, toys for the kids, books slippers sweets clothes just about anything makes a great gift.

Christmas Dinner

Christmas Dinner
Christmas dinner in most homes in the UK is usually 3-4 courses it can be made up from what ever the family likes, but most go for soup for a starter, Turkey with roast potatoes and vegetables followed by a Christmas pudding and cream.
To help celebrate most dinning tables also set out Xmas crackers which contain a very silly joke a small gift and a paper hat for the diner to wear.
I think I can safely say that most of us eat far to much on Christmas day but do it anyway then spend the rest of the day relaxing and having fun with family and friends.
Only sad part of the day is the clearing away of the dinner plates and the washing up which seems to take ages, however we get on with it except mum as she can have a rest as she is usually the one that’s prepared most of the meal.
